Test uploading video on YouTube with a webcam and Avatar from March 13, 2012 02:10 PM Today, I was doing some research and I was just playing around with a webcam at office. I found this new Avatar tool. So I used the Logitech Orbit webcam to test this Avatar while uploading this video. It's quite fun for me. At the beginning I tried to use the "baby" effect, but it's creeping me out! :D It's not so "real" like the commercial. I also found that I don't particularly "enunciate", I meant moving with my lips, mouth and jaw a lot like most American anchors or actors. So you can see that this character's lips didn't really move that much - well, it could be like the old lady character, the Dispatch Manager, Roz, in Monsters, Inc. 'wink ~ wink~" This experience reminded me the time, 11 years ago, at Emerson College, I was working on my thesis project. I tried to use Maya to create a 3D character, a computer mouse, moving and talking along with a recorded voice-over. But this time,! I have to "direct" and "animate" myself how to move my lips, blink my eyes, move my eyebrows, and tilt my head, etc. I think I can do better "acting" next time! :D It's definitely fun - you'll enjoy it!
